The belt material is quite sturdy. I can wear a firearm holstered on it, without it taco-ing over on itself.
The buckle holds quite snugly. I'm sure one could dislodge it eventually, but that's true for any buckle. It's proved to be very firmly held in place in the two spots that count: the spot where the buckle attaches permanently to the belt, and then at the other end, where it attaches to the open/close free end of the belt.
If you're unsure what length to buy, buy it over-large. You can always cut it down. Once you cut it to final length, run a cigarette lighter flame along the cut edge to seal it.
I bought these belts for traveling with, so I wouldn’t need to remove them in TSA airport Checkpoints. The only reason why I didn’t give them 5 stars is that they have a belt keeper that’s inconvenient to use. As it an elastic band that needs to be held while the belt is feed through. Otherwise, they seem like good quality products.
So far I really like the belts. I have only used the brown belt. But the belt is easy to cut to size and fits through jean belt loops easily.
First time i sat down it popped loose. it was an easy fix, you just have to reset the part that sits in the buckle farther back than how they come. since i did that, no problemo. it does squeak sometimes like a cheap pair of tennis shoes, but i really do prefer these over regular belts.
